Hanako was excited. Mama was taking her to a playdate with some other baby Pokemon. The only thing she didn't like was having to fly there, but mama Togekiss didn't really have feet, so Hanako had to fly on mama's back. She kept her face buried in mama's feathers, hoping she'd evolve out of her fear of heights.
When Hanako felt mama's position change, she realized they were going down. It was a small clearing near the edge of the forest, where the humidity was lower than closer to the middle where mama and Hanako lived. Mama landed gently, and Hanako jumped down from mama's back. Hanako hoped that the other Pokemon that were supposed to come would be friendly and nice, and that they would want to be friends. She knew that she could fight if she needed to, though. Mama had helped her learn how to use her attack moves. She just hoped her metronome attack didn't turn into something with fire that she couldn't control... She didn't want to burn the forest down, after all.

Down in the humid rainforest a young fawn had been trying to play however, it was so humid that he was finding it difficult, even his spring pink coat was turning a brownish color in the environment. So he began to trot away in one direction trying to find a spot that wasn't so humid. It was becoming difficult though as the dense air felt choking but when he felt as if he could go no more he began to feel the humidity lift.
The deerling fawn gave a woop and a kick before bounding forward, only stopping when he saw a togepi and a togekiss. Before the fire his mother had told him about these pokemon, they weren't predators and thus he felt it was okay to approach them, he was especially interested in that togepi. Perhaps she wanted to play?
Rannoch trotted forward confidently and stopped about a foot in front of the pair with his little tail wagging. "Hello, my name's Rannoch. Do you wanna play? Oh wait..."
His tail stopped wagging briefly as he thought about what he should do. Maybe he should ask the togepi's mom if she could play first. Would that be right? "Can she play, Ms. Togekiss?" [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Once again the little dark fox found herself in arceus forbidden death trap of humidity. She could feel her fur stick to her like as if she had decided to go jump into some nice, wonderful, hot muck. Well at least she didn't look nearly as bad as she felt. No she looked much better than she felt actually. How had she kept comig to places like this? She would never know. Maybe her adventurous spirit was drawing her to these places like a destined for or some nonesense like that. The little fox had just about as much faith in 'superstition' as she had some random predator watching her back; which, thankfully, was none at all.
Eyeing the trees that dwarfed her, more like made her feel like a grain of sand, Kashini could only wonder what sort of new things she'd see in this place. It felt like her former home with all its tall forests and thick bushes but even her home wasn't this warm. Shaking her head in attempt to take her mind off this humid nastiness, the little zorua decided to begin a short trot. Looking for something, anything, to drive to distract her mind from this sticky madness. What was suppose to be a short trot turned into a light run, carefully keeping her body from warming too much more.
That was when she nearly smacked into a tree to stop herself. Figures that did not match the original scenery had caught her eye. What was this? The young zorua peeked out from behind that very same tree. A little colorful looking creature along with two other almost pure white creatures, well one looked more tan with the top of its head, stood out. Now she had seen the tall one before, that was a deerling. That much she knew but she had absolutely no idea of what the other two were. Straining her ears forward to catch the conversation (which wasn't quite working mind you) she did manage to catch the deerling's name. Everything else was too quiet to make out. She would've gladly just trotted up to the trio but she didn't exactly feel like facing that strange white thing in the face before she even knew how strong it was. Especially since that one was definitely not nearly as young-looking as the other two that were there.

Hanako looked at Togekiss, eyes pleading. Togekiss just laughed. "It's alright with me," she said. "Just stay where I can see you both, and don't go outside the clearing."
"Yay! Thank you mama!" Hanako said happily. She tried to run, but her stubby little feet wouldn't let her go that fast. She stumbled, but didn't fall. She looked back at the Deerling. "My name's Hanako. Where's your mama? I never seen you around before. You from outside the forest?" She laughed again, a sweet sound.
While the young ones were playing, Togekiss was sure she heard something in the brush. She flared her wings, riding on a low thermal, then glided over to the noise. It was... A Zorua? "Come on out," she said kindly. "There's no need to hide. Why don't you go play with the others?"

He was sitting off in the distance and was bored mindlessly. He felt a ripple through his skin as he looked for something to do. He walked around when he saw something the corners of his eyes. He saw a small group of Pokemon in the distance.
He smiled to himself and the said "Why not, looks fun." He walked closer and closer to them. Keeping out of range form their attacks. He smiled and sent a thunder right into the ground in front of the group, making sure not to hit them in any way.

The young deerling fawn leaped happily into the air when the mother togekiss said her daughter could play. He bounded forward further into the clearing and reared happily as he waited for the shorter-legged togepi. "Haha! Come on, slowpoke!
He laughed and playfully went back to nudge the smaller pokemon. When she mentioned her name and started asking questions the little deerling withdrew a little. "It's nice to meet you Hanako and I don't exactly have a mama... Although I do live, um," He didn't know whether to say he lived here or not. Sure, he mostly stayed in the East but he didn't exactly have a home since he lost his herd. "Near here. Hey, what do you wanna play? Tag? Hide-and-?" A bolt of lightning struck the ground near the pair and Rannoch leaped a mile into the air fearfully. What in the world had that been?! His first instinct was to flee but his next thought was that of the tiny togepi and how she'd have trouble running with her short legs. So, swallowing his fear he stood over the spike ball pokemon and whispered down to her, "Stay near me, I'll protect you." Being a while on his own had taught him lessons in bravery though he'd probably lose any fight with a pokemon not his age. "Who's out there? Show yourself!" He raised his voice to the unknown attacker hoping he didn't sound as scared as he felt. [/blockquote] [/blockquote] [/blockquote]

The zorua's attention had been solely on the two younger pokemon now as the two of them seemed to practically bound away. So much absorbed by the strange sight, Kash didn't even realize the much larger white pokemon take off from the ground. It wasn't until she found the air stirring that she bothered to look up and see the mother. Instantly the zorua was a black puffball. Legs tense and ready to run for dear life if this mother thought she was a threat to her baby, Kash almost missed the white creature's words.
What was that? Play with them? The zorua was silent. The little fox pokemon was about to reply when she heard a loud boom-shock sound. Instantly she was a puff-ball again but she knew she'd heard that sound before. Wait a second... It couldn't be... could it? Ignoring her previous fluff-out (her name for her visible freak-out); Kash was already running out from the bushes toward the other two children. Her fur was lying flatter on her back as she stood only a few steps away from the other two. She dared not say who she thought it was as she didn't need the drama that came with the knowing a prank like this. This was a prank right? Perhaps a tease. She didn' know but somehwo she found it exhilierating. Looking at the other two, she noted how the larger one protected that little white pokemon. He looked like he would protect that little one but even the zorua could just see the fear coating his pelt. A mischeviously proud smile flickered across her face. Looking away she sang out into the clearing, Oh c'mere you big 'ole boogie-man. She held herself upright, kept her fur calmly down, and even waved her tail in the air like a dominant flag. C'mon out! I'll give ya' a good one! She barked. A little show-off she is and with her bravery... amazing she isn't poke-food by now. Like always, the little fox wanted to show-off in front of others. Show just how brave and 'awsome' she was. Now why wasn't she a poochyena..?

He approached the group with a big smile on his face. He felt his skin ripple as the little Pokemon challenged him to fight. He winked at her and said "Are you sure?" He smiled as he sent a Shadow Ball in front of the Pokemon but destroyed it with a second one. He smiled at the Pokemon and asked again "Are you sure?"
He looked around for the other Pokemon who called him out. He smirked and gave the Pokemon a questioning look. He then asked "So, I'm not allowed to have fun?" He smiled again and added "I guess you guys don't get a joke."

Togekiss gasped when the loud noise went off, flying over to Hanako and Rannoch before the dust had settled. She needn't have worried, though. In front of the little Togepi was a barrier shining with reflected light. Hanako had instinctively used her Protect attack. The grass behind her was still green and undamaged. Hanako's Protect faded then, and she fell backwards. After a moment of stunned silence, the baby pokemon began to cry loudly. Togekiss hovered between the two young ones and the Gengar, eyes cold and narrow.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on my baby!" she growled. It was an unusual sound from a Togekiss, for sure, but they were known for fiercely protecting their young. The Gengar said it had been a joke. "Attacking a baby pokemon is never a joke. Leave. Now. Unless you want me to attack." A black sphere began to form before her, her own Shadow Ball forming in response to the threat.

A lot of things happened next that took the young fawn by surprise. The first was a green barrier of light that kept the area around him and Hanako safe. What had happened? Had the little togepi just used an attack? He glanced down at her just to be sure though the tiny pokemon just looked scared, as scared as he himself felt. Perhaps it had been an instinctual thing.
Next a small fox-looking pokemon popped out of the undergrowth along with a rotund purple pokemmon. Who were these guys? At any rate they seemed to know each other which didn't matter to Rannoch. After all the purple one seemed to want to scare people and use horrible attacks! "You could have killed us!
His young face turned into a serious frown as he remained standing over Hanako. However, needn't have said anything as the mother togekiss confronted the purple pokemon. Rannoch couldn't agree more with her. [/blockquote] [/blockquote] [/blockquote]

Aha! So it was that pokemon from before! Oh the zoru could on praising herself in her mind forever is she had the chance to. When the purple creature winked at her the zorua could only tilt her head slightly before her body puffed out the moment she saw the shadow ball coming at her. It was as if slow motion had kicked in as the little fox's head swam with something to counter that. But it seemed that in the end she hadn't need to do anything. For a second shadow had hurtled the first into a blast of electric smoke, forcing the little dark-type to close her eyes 'less she get dust in them.
Blinking her eyes open, she saw the barrier of light. What the-? Looking around she saw the larger white creature had floated over them; had she been the one to protect them? It didn't seem like it... Then perhaps, looking behind her; Kashini eyed the youngster duo. It couldn't have possibly be one of them... Could it? Well no time to worry on that note. She watched as the mother took a place between the two babies and the gengar. Even she flinched at the harshness of the white being's voice. That was a que to never go against a baby, especially with the mother nearby. Shuddering she mentally agreed with the thought.
How time seemed to slow and mix when quick events happened and now they were heading back up to their original course. The smaller white pokemon's cries echoed in the fox's ears and hesitantly she looked back at the little one, unsure of what to do. She didn't usually see other pokemon who were as young or even younger than her. It was like seeing a pecha berry in a forest full of orans. Rare, unless you looked in the right place. Looking to the deer-pokemon Kashini tip-toed a little closer. He looked like the soothing type, so he would be able to do something right? Right? Agh! She was so not good with these kinds of things...

He gave a rather smug look at them. Once you try to have some fun Jimmy, and you get everyone pissed at you. He smiled ti himself and said "If I would have wanted to kill you, you would not be alive to hear this, any way..." He looked at the Pokemon that was using Shadow Ball. He smiled and asked "And you would be stupid enough to attack.."
He turned towards the other Pokemon and said "Well I'm just looking to have fun for once in my life after that stupid rebellion..." He might as well would be talking to a wall. Angry parents tend to be protective of their babies. He gave all of them a really bright smile, and added "Parents do overreact sometimes."

Togekiss narrowed her eyes. The Shadow Ball dissipated, and she turned to Hanako. "Hush now, Hanako, darling," she said in a soft voice. "You're fine. Mama's fine. Even your new friend is fine." She shot a glare at the Gengar for a moment before Hanako's crying began to subside.
"Mama's not hurt?" the baby Pokemon asked, sniffling. She stood up, with help from her Togekiss mother. She didn't look at the Gengar, more scared than she would tell anyone. Her mother would be the only one who understood.
"It's alright hon," Togekiss said soothingly. "You go find somewhere to wait for mama, okay?" Hanako nodded and turned around, heading toward the edge of the clearing. Some of the larger trees had holes under them from ages ago when Pokemon had dug them looking for shelter. And the holes had only gotten bigger since, so some of them would even have enough room for a Deerling. After her father's murder, she was deathly afraid of anything that was possibly a dark-type Pokemon. Including a Gengar.
Togekiss turned to the Gengar. "It's a parent's job to protect their young. You would understand that if you had any to protect," she told him coldly. "What about your parents? Didn't they do their best to protect you when you were just a child? Or maybe not, because you're a ghost Pokemon. It is said that children take on the traits of their parents." The last sentance was spoken with a voice that sounded like Togekiss assumed it was just that simple. And, for her, it was. Her mother had protected her with her life when Togekiss was a child, and now she knew that she would give anything, including her life, for her only child.

Rannoch narrowed his eyes at the newcomer since it seemed to him like the purple pokemon was going through a lot of trouble to show off or have fun or whatever he wanted to call it. Now Rannoch's attention was on the little black fox-like pokemon as it edged closer. Who and what was she? It looked like a meat-eater but still too young to do much harm to him. Her eyes were wrong for harm anyway... Did she want him to do something? How could he? He was still young and shouldn't mettle in the affairs of the adults, in fact, he should probably make his way to where Hanako had gone to sit. And yet...
Something in him compelled him to stay and try his best to help the situation even though he thought the purple pokemon was in the wrong. He hated conflict and just wanted this whole affair to be over. His large, dark eyes looked up at the togekiss as his young voice spoke out. "Ms. Togekiss, I'm sure Mister didn't mean anything by his Thunder. No one was hurt and maybe that's how those pokemon play." If that type of pokemon played that way then he wanted nothing to do with it though he was trying to act grownup and reach a medium. Living on your own tended to teach you certain things.

Turning her head back to the older purple pokemon, Kash merely blinked a few times. Unable to hold back the grin which agreed with his words. It was true that parents did tend to overreact, she knew that from dear 'ole daddy. Hopefully the mother wasn't like her father, so overprotective she drove away anyone and everyone from her babe. But that grin quickly deleted itself from her face as the motehr turned back to her baby. Hushing the infant, Kash couldn't help but feel relieved. Crying always made her a little iffy on what to do. It crashed her style.
Deciding she didn't need to listen in on the conversation like poke-C, Kash turned her attention to the other youth. She caught his eyes on hers, her eyes narrowing in a stare. He looked rather timid but maybe that was her omnivore spirit overwhelming senses in the presense of an herbavore. Of course thats not whats going through her head, no, her head was actually on stand-by. Why, well he had that spark in his eye that was inevitably something either incredibly rare or just plain new in poke`s like him. Her ears caught the sound of the mother's words. Such harsh sounding words that made even her fluff up a little out of pure anger. Even if she was still young she knew that those words were just a fire to start an explosion. She opened her mouth to speak but the other youth beat her to the punch. Oh how upsetting. Ah well she got her turn afterwards.
Her mind studied the deer's words more closely than she would ever study on something like lessons. She wasn't a ghost but she still didn't like how they seemed to throw some pokemon into their own little cesspool away from them. But of course she was no philosopher, it just sounded odd to her. Ignoring the little nagging at the back of her mind the zorua finally spoke, Y'know. Shy-boy here is right. Y'never know, each has their own greetings. Adding silently to herself, And its a heck of a lot more fun with action! It wasn't her style to go along with other's flows but try something new and there'll be a new result? Its always exciting to see something new afterall.
