Large feet griped the branch that I sat on. My large nest was off in a couple branches above me. Sharp green eyes scanned the area, sharp beak clenched shut as my head slowly moved back and forth. I as on the hunt, seeking out my prey. I had been like this for a few minutes now, waiting for the right bug type to cross my path before I snagged onto it. It was the waiting game right now, a waiting game that I was indeed, rather good at.
My golden feathers were clean and bright. The perfect picture of health. I had a pink ribbon on my neck, something I picked up on my journey here. It was dirty, tattered, fraying at the edges. But it reminded me of something; I never wanted to let it go. I had gotten it tied on my neck snugly, however the long feathers that came off of my face were still free in the breeze and not tied down.
Movement.
It caught my gaze and as quickly as I saw it, I quickly dashed down and used my talons to grab it. It was a weedle, something I ate on a common basis. They weren't my favourite, but I didn't hate them either. Large wings flew me back to my nest and I began to enjoy my meal.
Once I was done, and had finished a nap, I got up. I let out a chirp and began to let my lyrics flow around the Misty Rainforest. I was hidden in the large leaves of the tree that I nested on. After about ten minutes of singing I hopped out of my hiding spot and decided to take a cruise around in the skies and do some sight seeing.

Six wings held the dragon-pokemon to float lazily through the air. One head where a hand should be was biting and holding a human shoulder bag in front the body's main head while the other was nuzzling the treasures inside. Today had been a great haul despite the lack of actual 'human artifacts'. Pretty gems and colorful stones were the main population of todays treasures. Shifting the rocks and crystals apart he looked at his other gatherings. He had found some strange contraptions buried underground and even some from the nearby forest caves. Out of anything left, well there was hardly anything there at all... But he did manage to find some strange little thing next to a skull. It was gritty with dirt but he could make out a variety of different colors from a stone and in the center of the stone was a metal hoop. He could only firgure that was to keep the stone from dropping as the whole oval shaped body hung, or at least use to, on the remainders of an extremely rusty chain.
Out of all his treasures he thought that to be the best. An unnaturally happy smile opened his fanged maw. A truly unnusual sight to see on the face of one of his kind... But then again his mood was never like that of his brutish relatives. Somehow he didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Pushing the memories of his family aside the large brute merely enjoyed his new treasure, wondering where he should go next to see if he could find some more treasure. Most likely the ruins but there was no doubt that the forest itself could hold something far more precious than the obvious former human dwellings.
He pondered the thought. Removing his heads-for-hands to place the bag onto his side, an arm locking it into place so he wouldn't accidentally drop any of his treasures. Oh that would be a nightmare considering how pretty most of his prizes were. Taking in a quick breath of air the Hydreigon pounded his three-pairs of wings for speed and altitude. His first thought was to hide his findings in his little hideout, that is if those little mammalian pokemon decided they hadn't ransacked it this time. They had done that a few times before, each time he had to move for fear of losing his entire collection.
That idea was shot from his head when he heard some sort of muscial lyrics fill the air. Pretty sounds but ones not made by any dragon. A bird most likely, many bird-like pokemon tended to like to sing. Both out of curiousity and wonder, Vartra headed in the direction of the song.
He must've flown for a while for when he thought he was close to the source it cut off. Cocking one head to the side he had to wonder why he bothered to follow to the music. Shrugging he swirled to turn back toward his original destination. That was until he saw a large bird-like figure emerge from the sea of trees. Hesitantly he wondered if he should approach the soaring figure. Thinking that perhaps that flyer might know a good place to find more treasure would drive him to interact, yeah right. He loved to meet other creatures, friendly or not. Shrugging at his own mind once more Vartra dived down toward the flying-type. His wings were noisy just as the wind was of his approach yet even still he found himself trying to gather the other's attention. Hello there! He called, bringing himself toward the other's altitude. He contemplated on speaking more but first he wanted to see if this one would ignore him or not.

Wings only flapped occasionally during my journey over the rain forest. I mostly glided and let my sharp emerald eyes scan the area for new resting grounds, heavily populated prey grounds, and places that I wished to avoid. Currently there was very few of the latter one, which made me feel a bit more relaxed. I wanted to stay here longer, it was warm and the food was plentiful.
I flew by a small pond of water, there were water Pokemon in it, the kind that I enjoyed to dive down and fish. I was suddenly in the fishing mood. I circled around for a moment, not hearing the sound of beating wings coming toward me. I was intent on getting me some fish, I hadn't had any in such a long time. I circled a few more times, wanting to get my plan in place before I dove in there and made a fool out of myself.
However, someone was talking to me. A quiet noise of surprise came from my beak and my flight pattern got screwed up; I stuttered and flapped oddly a few times as I tried to regain my composure. When I was flying normal again (keeping myself in the same spot), I looked to see who had interrupted me. My first instinct was to hide, this creature was bigger than me, had bigger teeth than eye, and more mouths than I have ever seen on one Pokemon.
He was larger than myself, also he had way more pairs of wings that I did. But right now I flew my ground, my mind was intent on getting some Magickarp after this conversation, I wasn't going to let him stop me. "Hello." I responded to him. I took another look around, perhaps he was speaking with someone else and I just embarrassed myself. I looked around and didn't see anything, I guess he was talking to me.
Returning my gaze back on him I noticed the bag that was clenched to his side by one of his mouth arms. I got curious of this, he had a human thing on his side and I had one tied around my neck. Did he belong to a trainer? Or did he find that just as I had found mine? This intrigued me, so I stayed a float. "I am Valentina." I decided that I should tell him my name, I felt awkward not doing so. Telling ones name is apart of social convention I do believe.

A happy glimmer showed in his eyes when the pidgeot didn't ignore his greeting. Many bird pokemon tend to do that... or peck at him... or just plain run away but this one he noticed. No she stood her ground and he liked that, it meant this flyer had enough guts to stand up to something much larger and possibly something stronger than she might've thought. But he wasn't here for a fight, no, he was here for information, maybe grab some nice idle chat for solitaryness's sake. As much as he liked keeping his treasure to himself and keeping others as far away as possible from his trove, even he didn't like to be the anti-social, paranoid, and absolute grump of a dragon. No he wouldn't be like that. After all, the best gems often came from the information gathered from gathering or just traveling pokemon in general.
Now that he had the other's attention he noticed the small little cloth wrapped around the flyer's neck. Now where had he'd seen something like that... Oh yes! His mind going to the satchel on his side he remembered one odd little piece he acquired from a rather angry honchcrow who had challenged him. (Of course he won as the honchcrow was all talk and no play...) A little prize he got from sparing the pompous bird was a pretty blue cloth with some design that looked far too similar to that of an abra holding some small oval stone. Sadly the cloth was too worn to see the rest of the design.
Pushing the thoughts aside he returned his attention back to the pidgeot in time to hear her say her name. Valentina; this was this female's name. With a small smile he dipped his head in greeting before replying. Pleasure Valentina. My name is Varta. He introduced, his voice was much deeper than the other's. Maybe that was his size who controlled his vocal chords. It seemed to happen alot to dragons. He continued, I see you are also one for the humans artifacts... He pointed with one head-hand at the ribbon. Did you find that in the ruins or perhaps out here away from the city? He tried to make it sound as much like a conversation as he could without being so painfully obvious about searching for info.
Flittering his wings a little as a small current came through he decided to continue for conversation's sake alone, I, myself, am quite an admirer of human creations. Don't they have a beauty to them? He tried his hand at a gentle smile but made more of like a toothy grin. His face wasn't exactly the most noble like most other pokemon.

Wings flapped which enabled me to keep afloat. The long feathers on my head were carried by the high winds that danced where we were at. The scarf on my neck also twisted and turned. It was fraying even more, but I didn't take much notice in the fact.
Green eyes took a quick glance toward the lake that was down below, the fish still seemed a plenty and enjoying basking in the warm waters. I was glad to see that they were still here, but this was just the start of this conversation so I had to wait and see if they would stay when I was done with this.
A second later after looking at the orange fish, emerald orbs turned back to the dark dragon type Pokemon. Just in time to listen to him speak with me. I nodded when he spoke his name. "Nice to met you Varta." I said, my voice formal. I wasn't to good with socializing, I didn't want to seem so awkward. His voice was much deeper than mine, but I expected a dragon's voice to be deeper than a birds. Winged Pokemon tended to be musical, where as dragons were thought of to be ancient and majestic. Not to say that Varta was ancient though.
Not to long later he mentioned the pink scarf around my neck. He seemed rather interested in it, I tucked my head in to my chest to try and get a better look at it. "I found it on some grassland path that I landed on before coming here. It was pretty dirty and frayed when I found it, but I liked it nonetheless." I replied to him, eyeing the bag again on his shoulder. "Where did you find that? Is there more things inside?" I asked him, intrigued with the bag itself, curiosity tugging at my feathers as to what could be inside.
He asked me a question about finding beauty in human artifacts. "Some are nice to look at, some I don't fancy or I could care less about it. Have you ever seen what they call a "Pokeball?" I asked Varta. This conversation seemed to be going smoothly in my opinion. Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad.

The first thing he noted was how formal she was. Either she was very well brought up or she was covering for something. Well she seemed like one of the more 'normal-er' types; if that even made sense. He could feel no hostility so he could only conclude that he had indeed not disturbed the bird and brought retribution on himself. Though that might actually be an overstatement. Socializing wasn't bad... Was it? No certainly not. Socializing meant information gathering and information gathering meant prizes. Yes, a much better way to put it in his sometimes overly crowded mind. Oh how at times he wished there were brains in those other two hands... But alas! He has no dodrio tricky three-brainess Is that even a word? so he must survive with his single mind. Pause. That could be a very good thing actually...
Ack! Moving away from those involitable thoughts, Vartra's attentioned just in time to hear where the pidgeot had found that little bit tied around her neck. So she found it on a grassland did she, and a path nonetheless! Paths always seemed to hold the more decayed items as humans weren't the only ones who used those paths. No, many pokemon who couldn't fly or were unfamiliar with a place usually followed a path. It was a sense of order for them he guessed.
Then she noticed his little satchel. (Its actually quite large to fit him...) A excited glimmer shined in his eyes, he always loved to tell about his own ventures and sometimes even the things he would find. He did have to be careful so that some bandit-wannabes wouldn't try something as foolish as challenging him for his pretties. That had happened before... As one could see he was still there and with everything still intact, those others... Not so much. This? He gestured at hid bag, I found this in some strange contraption humans most likely used to get around in. You know, the ones with the wheels. Sadly, as much as Vartra may know he was not very knowledgable about the human inventions... He blamed the ones who were too self-centered to share their knowledge. I do have some items in here but mostly little gems and such I've found in the nearby caverns. He deemed this creature to be worthy of telling this information to. She was certainly no thief, that much he could figure out.
So she was like him in a way, some treasures were indeed treasures while others could merely be dust. But what intrigued him now was the this thing she called 'poke'balls'. He's heard of those from some formerly owned pokemon. Apparently that was like a capsule of some sort that stored the pokemon themselves. He always wanted to see these 'balls'. They must be enormous to hold pokemon like onix and salamence in. I myself have never seen a poke'ball but I've heard what they can do it. Its really quite intriguing! To be able to fit a large creature into some storage place, they must be enormous! His rather short tail began to sway behind him like how a cat pokemon might. Have you ever seen them? He asked out of pure curiousity.

Green eyes studied the dragon Pokemon. Tail adjusted to the different breezes and winds that came by to keep myself level and afloat. Quickly I glanced down to see the lake down below was still plentiful of Magickarp. I raised my eagle eyes back to him and waited for him to speak.
He seemed somewhat excited when I mentioned the bag that was tucked into his arm. I nodded to him when he gestured to it and waited for him to go on, which didn't take long. A thing humans used to get around? I had seem a few different forms of that. Two wheels, four wheels, some had a lot more. I had checked them out before when the humans left. They were interesting, and sometimes I found some tasty snacks in there.
"I have seen those things that they travel in before. Weird contraptions, I never understood how they worked." I responded to him. "I haven't gone looking for things really that hard before. Is it hard?" I asked him. The curiosity of what kind of gems he had pulled at my brain. Being a bird I was always intrigued with the thought of something shiny.
My feet were curled into my body now, no longer ready to grab hold of the prey that was waiting below. I would get to them eventually, but right now I was actually talking with another Pokemon. He may not be my species, but maybe that was what was enabling me to speak with him. I know that I felt nervous when I spoke to the male Pidgeots back where I came from. I was scared of looking like a fool in front of them.
"I haven't see any Pokeballs either. However, I have heard that they are actually really small. The Pokemon get sucked up into them." I said to him. "I am glad that I won't have to endure that. I wouldn't want to be stuck in one of those for a long time." I finished.
