Curse the blasted heat! Sure, his fur was thin --as was all liepard's-- but he had a limit to what sort of baking temperatures that he could stand! How long did the stupid, endless, roasting north go!? Why couldn't he have just stayed in The Old City and sent some other foolish pokemon to do his dirty work? But no, he had to leave his luxurious room to come here. How had he even convinced himself that it was just a short little walk? It was no such thing! He'd probably have to spend a night in the North just to make it back to his-- hello, what was that?
The liepard paused in his walking and stared hard in the distance. What he saw appeared to be water but after the other three mirages that he'd seen before he wasn't so sure. The cat-like pokemon narrowed his eyes and started forward at a trot. If it is another mirage I'm going to kill myself...

But no, as he got closer to his goal he could see that it was indeed real water. To Lystin it was the most wondrous thing that he'd ever seen... well, except maybe for the large diamond he'd found in an old-human-dwelling. Forgetting that most cat-pokemon had an aversion to water he rushed forward and dived right in not caring about scaring away the fish-pokemon or the fact that his berry-dyed fur was showing its true color. No. The shiny liepard only walked calmly from the water and shook his fur dry. He gave a sigh and only then did he notice the large dragonite that was a few feet away from him, his eyes locked onto the dragonite and he gave one of his most winning smiles before clearing his throat and speaking. "Good evening, my good sir, such a pleasant day to be out, is it not? Are you enjoying the fine weather?" The sarcasm would probably take some very intuitive or trained ears to pick out because the seasoned thief was skilled at making words sound just as he wanted them to. The feline-like pokemon glanced around and spied a rock large enough to lie upon. "Ah, hold that thought, please." With that, he trotted to the stone and lounged across it, his damp pelt worked with the warm to stone to create a comfortable sensation. He purred in delight before raising his eyes once more to the dragon. "Sorry about that but I simply adore lounging across heated stones, do you?" A toothy grin adorned his features this time as he was sure that there were no rocks large enough to fit the big dragon. He just happened to be in a playful mood at the moment. Man! She was so late! She hadn't meant to fall asleep last night! Oh, but she had to stop and rest soon... She was so thirsty... Having flown quite a ways already, she found herself creeping lower as she flew through the sky, the white wings from her head gradually losing momentum. There was something ahead... An oasis...? Ah! Sisoa Oasis! She would just have to keep going and land there. She had stored up some of her excess energy in her orbs, so she tapped into those reserves now. She'd have to put in some more later, so she'd be able to see deeper into the Dragon's Den, but that could wait.
She saw what looked like a Liepard, but different. Ah. Shiny. And there was a Dragonite not far from the feline pokemon. Hm... Maybe this one would be a good benefit to the Tribe. Whatever the case, Tanis knew she had to land if she wanted to be able to fly any farther later. She landed a little ways away from the two pokemon, curling in her wings once she was on the ground. She lapped up some of the water, then stuck her tail in it. It would be lovely to swim, but this water had it's own draconic inhabitants that were probably not very welcoming to strangers. She shook her tail pretty much dry, then decided to just wait for a bit. Maybe a fish would give her more energy. Tanis looked over at the other two who were there already, wondering if the Dragonite would be willing to join the Jakkalse. The tribe could use some more hunters like that one...

His left ear twitched as the words from the dragonite made their way through the air. His eyes narrowed lazily and he coolly spoke his next sentence, "Ah, so I suppose even dragons, like yourself, enjoy the simple pleasures in life."
|
With that, the liepard gave a yawn that exposed every one of his ivory fangs and he rolled lazily onto his back so that it could have a chance to feel the warming sensation. The liepard usually wasn't one for silence as he shunned it for seeking out company and good conversation but for now he allowed it. He yawned once more and half-closed his vivid green eyes in what looked like a resting position but it was far from that. The liepard had rolled onto his side and his ears were perked and his swift green eyes were tracking the area. He had become good at scoping out the scene but it wasn't his ears or eyes that alerted him to another presence. It was the scent. With the dry desert air it was easy to pick up on other scents and the one that filtered into his nose was like that of the dragonite near him yet unlike it. He glanced over at the lake and saw the pokemon whose smell he'd caught. It was a dragonair --which explained why the scent resembled the dragonite's-- and not only that but it was a shiny like him. The spheres on her neck were a simply divine golden color, he found it was hard to pull his eyes away from them. He was intrigued yet he kept his cool and simply lifted his head to give a polite nod in her direction. He rolled onto his belly and tucked his paws beneath his chest. He wondered if those beautiful and shiny gold spheres were able to be taken? They looked firmly attached to his dismay. He was about to call the female closer but the voice of the male interrupted him. The liepard nearly missed the words of the dragonite but fortunately "nearly" isn't a complete miss. "I suppose you could say that I am right now, though after I leave this arceusforsaken place I'll be sure to head directly back home. These extreme climates don't bode well for me." He managed to tear his eyes away from the female dragonair's spheres long enough to look up at the dragonite. "What about you, my good sir? Are you a traveler?" With the dragon's wings and his seeming aversion to the heat he would be a great candidate for travel. Lystin thought so anyway.
