Naomi's grandmother was a Luxio around the time of the human's fall, and had lived through it to see how the Pokemon left were now taking over. Naomi's mother watched as the human's legacy began to fade, and the world of Pokemon returned to one that was theirs again. There were still signs left of the human's time in the world, but they soon turned to a place where Pokemon thrived. As Naomi's mother matured and grew, she evolved into a Luxray as well, just as their species normally would, and upon adulthood, Naomi's mother found someone to father her child. Naomi's father, a wandering male Luxray, came and went, leaving Naomi's mother with her. Naomi grew up without knowing who her father was for a long time, and she never really questioned it as a Shinx, being far too innocent to be thinking of such questions. Early on in the Shinx's life, Naomi's mother would train her in basic fighting skills, in order to prepare her daughter to be fit for the big world. The little Shinx had shown signs of being a fierce fighter, most likely due to the genes passed down by her father. But along with her ferocity and strength, there also came a price. Naomi always was out looking for a fight. The Shinx challenged so many others, so many that lots of Pokemon were afraid of her, and she never made many friends. She was a stupid, reckless, young Pokemon, and it seemed that nobody was able to put a stop to the Shinx. She was always walking around with a proud gleam in her eyes, as if she knew she could take on anyone who got in her way; until someone finally took a stand. Another Shinx, the same age as Naomi. Naomi had not expected there to be ever someone who was strong enough, or courageous enough to challenge her "reign" and when the two started to fight, she expected a quick victory. Instead, she lost. A quick overhead swipe with the other's paw, and Naomi was downed. Perhaps the shock of the loss made the usually aggressive Naomi docile for that moment, and she gazed at the other Shinx in shock. In return, Naomi still remembered the serious look on the other's face as he demanded her apology to everyone. Which she did, and upon realizing for the first time all the fear she built up amongst the young Pokemon, she became a lot more nicer and in control of herself. As Naomi grew up, she went through the process of evolution herself, and is still currently in her Luxio form. She has matured and grown, and is different than when she was a younger Shinx. That memory of before continues to be burned into her mind, and she wonders if she'll ever meet that male Shinx who beat her.... He may have been her first love at the time, before she even knew it.
